Green Silicon Carbide Introduction:
Green Silicon Carbide (SiC) is an artificial corundum made from the fusion process of Quartz Sand(main content silica SiO2), Petroleum Coke and NaCl(catalyzer) under electric resistance furnace. Among abrasives family, silicon carbide's hardness is higher than corundum and ranked below diamond, cubic boron nitride and boron carbide. Density generally viewed is 3.20-3.25g/cm3, bulk density is 1.2-1.6g/cm3. It's semi-transparent in green color with the crystal structure, high hardness, sharpness, strong cutting ability, stable chemical characteristics, good thermal conductivity. It is hardness and sharpness makes it a very aggressive material for application in which high purity is requested. Sic is widely used in grinding wheels, lapping materials, and refractory raw materials. Green Silicon Carbide Abrasive Grits (Green SiC Abrasives) is made according to FEPA/JIS/ANSI standard.
